Antonio encompasses a particularly diverse set of creative abilities, a product of an intense  passion for the arts.

 

A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, Antonio has "perched on various branches of the design tree” with diverse work in multiple industries.  Antonio has successfully designed for companies such as Ralph Lauren, Walmart, Disney Stores and Marvel Entertainment, to name just a few.

Sofia is an exceptional educator, a strong leader and a dedicated professional in the area of higher education. She is currently completing a Ph.D in Higher Education Management, Leadership and Policy from Seton Hall University.

​

Sofia is currently the Dean of Students and Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs at Hofstra University. She is commited to creating a socially just world and has dedicated her personal and professional life to social justice, personal responsibility and helping others realize their potential.



Sofia resides inHempstead, New York with her husband the artist Antonio Pertuz and their two children, Ariana and Joaquin.

Even after all these years, twelve-year-old Ariana and eight-year-old Joaquin remain Antonio and Sofia's favorite daughter/son pair. They are exceedingly bright children that love to learn, read books and laugh out loud. Their own brand of creativity is expressed through their excellent school grades as well as their drawings, paintings and Lego creations.

Ariana would like to be an astro-paleontologist, or a veterinarian, either will do. Joaquin would like to be a signing teacher that also paints well. They both currently insist on living at home with their loving parents.

Antonio’s unique skill as a glass engraver is highly sought in the New York tri-state area by companies such as Saks 5th Ave, Bloomingdales, Lord & Taylor and Macy’s for charity events, product launches and special promotions. 

 

Antonio lives with his wife Sofia, their children Ariana and Joaquin in Hempstead, New York.
